FOUNDATIONS COURSE 

Designed to be taken in your first year of membership, our flagship education programme helps you master the basics of finance and investment. The course is offered three  times a year and you choose to join the cohort that best fits with your schedule.

HOW IT WORKS

Our Foundations course is our flagship offering that accelerates your learning and encourages connection with faculty and peers in an interactive, supportive and safe environment. Our online platform and virtual learning environment brings you and your peers together in small groups so you get the most out of your experience.

WHAT IS IT?

A three-week, cohort-based programme designed to help you master the basics of finance and investment. From mapping industry players to understanding key concepts, it will cut through the jargon and accelerate your financial confidence. Most members take Foundations in their first year to build on the knowledge you gain through our Building Blocks, Study Sessions, and other offerings. Designed and delivered by our Academic Director, Aunnie Patton Power.

TOPICS INCLUDE:

• Basic financial terminology and the role of industry actors

• Breaking down financial statements

• Deep dive on investment classes: debt, public equity, and private markets

• Building a portfolio: combining investment classes and opportunities
